Ongoing Friends’ Book Sale
Our volunteers select choice books, videos/DVDs and audio cassettes/CDs and make them available in the book case opposite the Circulation Desk throughout the year. Children’s books are $.25 and $.10, depending on size; videos/DVDS and audio cassettes/CDs are $1; and magazines are free. Put your money in the locked box on the book case. Additional books are available for free on the table outside Menino Hall opposite the elevator corridor.
Chess with Charley / Children’s Room, Saturdays, 12:30pm-4:45pm
Kids! Learn to play chess or checkers, or test your skill!
Children’s Book Discussion Group / Children’s Room, Monthly on Saturday, 9:30am, 10:15am, and 11am
Children in grades K through 6 can participate in these monthly half-hour meetings to talk about grade appropriate titles. Kids in grades K through 2 may join the Bookworms group, those in grades 3 and 4 may join the Pageturners group, and those in grades 5 and 6 may join the Bookends group. Books will be available one month in advance at the Children’s Room. Monthly meetings are held in the Children’s Room on Saturday at 9:30am for Bookworms, at 10:15am for Pageturners, and at 11am for Bookends. Please call the branch library or check the BPL Events Calendar to confirm which Saturday of the current month the meetings will be held.
Crochet Workshop for Kids / Ground Floor Level, CURRENTLY ON HIATUS
Learn the basic stitches of crochet and begin a simple project to complete at home.
Preschooler Story Time / Children’s Room, Wednesdays, 10:30am-11:15am
Toddler Story Time / Children’s Room, Tuesdays, 10:30am-11:15am
Bring your preschooler and toddler to the Children’s Room for a read-aloud story and simple craft project.
