The next open board meeting for the Friends of the Hyde Park Branch Library will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015, 6:30 p.m.-7:45p.m. in Menino Hall at the library. Friends members and the general public are invited and welcome to attend.

The Friends’ Antiques Appraisal Day on Saturday July 11th was a fun day amid other events at the branch library–girl scouts met in Menino Hall in the morning, followed by a community meeting with Mayor Martin Walsh. Our event was as well-attended, and many happy owners learned more about their objects. This Pilgrim pitcher was valued at about $200-300.

Appraisal Day is Saturday, July 11, from 10am to 2pm. Bring up to 3 items (no stamps or coins, please) to learn more about its history and value. Cost is $10 per item, 3 items for $25. The Friends will hold a one-day appraisal event for antiques and collectibles on Saturday, July 11, from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. Appraisers from Cobwebs Antiques in Jamaica Plain will spend a few minutes with each item and tell you interesting facts about its history, condition, and value.
Cost: $10 for 1 item, $25 for 3 items. Friends Members: $20 for 3 items.
Bring in a family treasure, or something you found at a tag sale. Please, NO stamps or coins.
