Americana-performing songwriter Thea Hopkins will appear in the Hyde Park Branch Library Garden on Thursday, August 1, from 6:30 to 7:30. She will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Andy Hollinger. They will present an entertaining mix of her originals and creatively re-arranged covers.

Thea has been described as an artist with a startling original voice who creates “narratives that drip with metaphor and imagery” by Americana UK. Her album “Chickasaw” received 4 stars from Maverick. Peter, Paul, & Mary recorded her song “Jesus is on the Wire” in 2004 for their last studio album “In These Times” and in 2010 with the Prague Symphony. Thea has toured regionally and nationally in the US performing at events and venues such as the Sundance Film Festival, Boston First NIght, and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Her new 2013 CD “Lilac Sky” is receiving high critical praise.

The Concerts in the Garden series is sponsored by the Friends of the HP Branch Library and is fully supported by a grant from the Blue Hills Bank Charitable Foundation. In the event of rain or excessive heat, the concert will be held in air-conditioned Menino Hall in the library.
