Today, July 27, 2013, between 11am and 4pm, the Hyde Park Sesquicentennial Committee, comprising the Friends of the Hyde Park Branch Library, the Hyde Park Historical Society, and the Boston Public Library, are pleased to sponsor a Civil War anniversary event at the Hyde Park Branch Library! This year marks the 150th anniversaries of the Emancipation Proclamation and the formation of the 54th Regiment of Massachusetts Volunteers. Come on by and see some history!

12:00-4:00pm Civil War artifacts exhibit in the Nancy Hannan Archives Room
12:15pm-12:45pm Interpretive and historical talk on the 54th Regiment by the Museum of African American History
12:45pm Special showing of the film, Glory
